Hiya ladies,

I am not doing so hot today, nor have I been the past couple of days.  I ended up driving myself to the hospital yesterday afternoon because I had been having pain in my left side in my lung area and shortness of breath. I had a headache when I went in and they ended up giving me 12.5 mg of Morephine and 25 mg of Phenegren. I had asked for Toradol.  (I hate narcotics!)  Well, I passed out twice after having gotten up to go to the bathroom and had gotten sick to my stomach.

They did an EKG, chest x-rays, and a contrast CT scan. All came back clear. However, in the process of getting these tests they found out I have many gallstones which I will be having surgery to remove. Hopefully, after this set of classes are over with... as they are not causing a blockage right now. As I was waiting for the CT results, Michael came to see me.   Seems he was upset with mom because she didn't know what was going on with me and since he did not have permission the hospital would not tell him anything.  I thought I was having a hallucination when he showed up, because I was higher then a kite on that crap.   He stayed with me last night keeping watch over me like a hawk. I swear every time I moved he was looking at me.  I told him I called him before I left for the hospital, and he said ya but you didn't call me during. I didn't know anything to tell him.   Sheesh.  Ah well at least he is like an old mother hen, not like the idiot.  So I guess I shouldn't complain. =)

I have a follow-up appointment on Monday at 12:30 with the surgeon to see what my options are.

If anyone has gone through this surgery, I would love to know what you went through. Hugs ~Lynn

I'm so glad that you're alright Lyn.  I haven't had gallstones before.  I know lots of people who have had their gall bladder removed and they say that they went home that same night and some the day after.

I'm glad that Michael was there for you. Men can be very compassionate when they're women are hurting.  When I had surgery my hubby was on duty at another hospital and couldn't be there.  He kept bugging the nurses with phone calls every 10-15 minutes.  The nurses finally asked my mom to tell him that I was alright and stop bugging the nurses - LOL.  His heart was in the right place.

Keep us posted.

Hiya,   Well I went to the follow-up doctor earlier today and it seems that I have pancreantitis and gallstones.  The physician's assistant stopped counting after they hit 20 marble sized stones. So I am waiting on surgeon here in town, to schedule consult and surgery. They said it would be outpatient unless complications arose.    I have been running a low grade temperature and we can trace it back to about 3.5 weeks ago when I went to give blood and they would not accept me since my temp back then was 100.1.  ugh  Apparently my old glass thermometer sucks in comparison to their ear one.  No one seems to be sure what exactly is causing the temp, but think it could very well be the gallbladder.    I will let you know more as I hear more.  The one thing that started in was nausea when eating.  ugh  I am not a happy camper right now. lol  Just trying to get through these next two weeks until classes are over.  sigh   Until Later...

I'm so sorry that you're not feeling well Lyn.  You're in my thoughts and let us know when you're having surgery.  I hope you can eat something without feeling ill.  I think that's normal because a friend of mine felt the same way right before she had some gallstones removed.  Feel better soon!!

Lyn, how much longer do you have until you can get the surgery?

I'm praying that this problem gets all taken care with the surgery, and you will be feeling like your old self again!  It can't be fun to be in that much pain.  (((hugs))) lady!
