It's official!!! Our son was accepted into U.C. Davis, Davis, California. He'll start this fall. He received an e-mail of acceptance this morning. It's a huge relief for Jeff and I. He'll be about 20 minutes from home. He's really excited and when he found the e-mail this morning Jeff thought Anthony was going to pass out!!!
Oh yeah!!!! Jeff sent a massive e-mail to friends and family and we got calls and e-mails ALL day for Anthony. You see when we adopted Anthony everyone thought with Jeff and I being caucasian and Anthony African American that it really wouldn't work. They thought that the indifference would hamper our parenting and him growing up normally and well adjusted. There were times that he was driving us NUTS (normal teenage years), but WELL I JUST PROVED THEM WRONG and am enjoying EVERY minute of it.
Thanks everyone. We're really looking forward to him attending there. This Saturday we'll be going on a tour of the campus and dorms. He just found out that they advise freshmen not to bring their cars because there is NO parking for them. He's kind of upset but explained that I'll go out to pick him up or he can take the train into Sacramento and I'll get him there. Everyone rides bicycles in Davis. They've also made it so that any public transit that they need to take is FREE of charge because they can't bring their cars.
