Good morning girls

You know my daughter is getting married in nov.
the question I want to ask. what kind of food did you had or seen at weddings?
the only thing I can think of is meatballs.blankstare Its not gonna be a sit down dinner it will be a buffet style dinner.

we want easy and fun foods.

Well I had a VERY small wedding so mine was a sit down brunch at a restaurant on the Bay.  Since we were on the Bay we had seafood (oysters, crab, lobster, etc).

At my sister's first wedding it was held at my parents' ranch. My brother, dad and hubby were up at 2:00 a.m. starting the fire for the underground barbecue pit.  They buried and cooked some wonderful briskets (they were AWESOME).

Are you cooking the food yourselves?

we are cooking some things. but we have this lady that gonna do most of the cooking and taking care of everything at the wedding.

seafood sounds good. but she might have 150(give or take) people at the wedding.

Well, with that many people you have acouple of options.  Actually alot of options.  You can do a hot and cold version mixed.  You can make your own meat platters (ham, turkey and beef - variety) and cheese platters (cheddars, monterey, etc).  The meat doesn't have to be warm and serve with rolls.  Along with it you can serve warm meatballs and also those mini sausages in a barbecue sauce.  Have a couple of salads on hand like green and pasta (something fancy like different colored pasta with cut up raw broccoli, olives, red peppers with a red wine vinegrette - it's GREAT) along with a couple of relish trays with olives, pickles, etc. and there you have it.

You can make it as fancy as you like like putting parsley and whole cherry tomatos on the trays for garnish.  If you want a little seafood mixed in then just serve shrimp with a sauce.  It's easy and less expensive then a full seafood meal.

Another option would be an hordeurve table with things like stuffed mushroom caps, artichoke dip served with sour dough slices, meatballs, sausages, veggie tray, baked brie, etc.  You get the gist.

Just depends on what kind of meal you want.
