So, a friend of mine on another forum works for the Rape Crisis Center of Southern Tier in NY state, and after ordering two pieces for herself, she asked (on behalf of the center) if I would donate a piece of hand-beaded jewelry for their Gala Charity Auction that was held this past Saturday.
I sent in this piece: This evening, I recieved a message from her about the auction,
"...The gala was excellent. We didn't have as many people attend as we would've like to but overall it was a success! Your necklace was one of the top bidded on items (in fact, there was a bidding "war" at one point between the person who won it and Trisha Meili aka "The Central Park Jogger")! It sold for a whopping 125.00!! The lady that won it is actually the Director of Development for Planned Parenthood in our region (our parent organization)..."
I am in very happy, very proud shock!
I'm firstly thrilled that it did so well for the intended charity, but also... a Bidding war?! On something I created? I'm flyin high ya'll. And it makes me think I'm not so crazy with this whole beaded jewelry idea after all. I needed that little boost this week.
Just thought I'd share my little ego boost!! :)
Hope everyone is well!!!
