As you have noticed I haven't been around like I should be. And I truly apologize for that... although all of us have really been busy.
My hubby Jeff has been going through some testing lately and we're just awaiting the final results. He started having real bad pain in his hip and back. I finally talked him into seeing the doctor because the last time that this happened they started tested him for MS but couldn't find anything at the time (thank goodness). Well, they're testing again for MS along with arthritis. The preliminary results are moderate arthritis in his hip and some in his back. We're waiting for the MRI results then we'll know exactly what's going on with him.
I'm hoping that they can manage his pain soon because I don't want him to live on Motrin, Flexeril and Percoset the rest of his life. Especially the Percoset (is that how you spell it?)
Arthritis you ask at such a young age (he'll be 48 this year). Well it's the years of Baseball, Softball, ROTC, Football, Golf and Martial Arts that's done it to him. Amazing how things that are good for you to do can really take a toll on your body later in life.
Thanks Tami. It's the anticipation that's the hardest through this whole ordeal. I'd rather that he had arthritis vs. MS anyday. I'm almost positive that it's just arthritis. But ya never know.
Hi everyone and thank you. I'm hoping that we hear soon. He had the MRI on the 14th and they said 3-5 days after that. They sent the preliminary in the mail via letter. Not unusual for Kaiser (our medical) but I hope they call and talk to him about the results of the MRI.
I will definitely let you all know the minute I hear.
Well the results are in....... And they found no signs of MS - WOOHOO!!!!!
What they did find is moderate arthritis in his hip and some arthritis in his back. The MRI indicated that he has a bulging disk between L1 & L2 which is causing the problems right now. Solution? Steroid spinal epidurals.
My mom has this and she has the steroid spinal epidurals every few months. Says that it's not that bad and will help tremendously.
