Okay so as you know.... Hubby had some tests done and everything came out better than expected WOOHOO!!!!!! On the 17th he'll have his first epidural shot into the spine to relieve the pain. Funny but he had his MRI on Valentine's Day and now this on St. Patrick's Day!! Oh well, as long as it helps.
Ya you would think so but Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day do not constitute as a religious holiday so they don't typically get those days off. Even religious holidays are iffy at the hospitals or on call.
As far as the lumbar spinal epidurals Here is a great link to give you and dh more information on what to expect from them.
(I am keeping up with TLC right now, because I am going back and forth on web pages working on math crap. Like loan amortization and depreciation, that kinda crap along with quadratic and linear equations.)
My mom has been getting them for about a year now and they help. Although they will only do so many within a year's period of time (I think it's 3 or 4). They told Jeff that he would need a ride home which freaked him out. Told him that they'll probably give him something to relax and don't want him to drive. He'll feel sooooo much better and it's better than having him on the Percoset that they have him taking.
Also, Thanks for the link Lyn - but I don't think I'll show Jeff. He asked the nurse who called for a blind fold so he won't have to look at anything in the room. You'd think that he just asked for his last meal and blind fold before being shot. Oops did I say Shot!!! LOL wrong choice of words.
Hey there - great to hear from you!!!! He had some pain in his back and hip. Found that he had moderate arthritis in his hip and back along with a bulging disk. Instead of him taking the meds constantly (percoset, flexeril and motrin) he opted for the steroid epidural.
And the update with the epidural is that it's working GREAT!!! He doesn't feel pain right now but is noticing some soreness in the other side which he didn't feel before. They said that might happen since the other side is doing the same thing. They also said that the bone next to the nerve is a little deformed (bigger) than it should be so it's not helping the situation.
