Well I thought that I'd update everyone on what's going on in my neck of the woods.
Anthony is now back at work and living in his home after 2 weeks of intensive therapy. I sure hope that he's learned something from this. Jeff will be taking him back to Berkeley this Saturday and his court date is in September. UGH this kid is going to drive me NUTS!!
My mom saw her Oncologist/Surgeon yesterday and learned that within the time that they found the lump until now it has grown. After hearing all the options she has decided to have a masectomy. She said that with the lumpectomy she would have to endure intense 3-4 month (everyday) chemo and radiations after that. She's not sure if she can withstand it and opted the other way. She might have to have some follow-up treatment but probably not as intense. The concern right now is that my mom only has one lung and they will do the pulmonary testing on Wednesday to determine if she can endure the surgery. So it all riding on that test and we'll see what happens.
My nephew's wife was induced last night and we're hoping for a baby today. The baby was due last Tuesday and if she's anything like her mom she'll be late the rest of her life - LOL.
Chemo and radiationsThat seems like a lot..Mom had a masectomy and chemo.. They have wonderful drugs now to help her from getting so sick. she is in our prayer. and I'm sure she will be fine.. just keep us updated on her. so have ya killed your son yet.LOL Keep us updated on your son court. My son is doing great now.. Thank god.
Tami I am so glad that you're son is doing well now. You're such a wonderful mom and I know that your love has helped him through tremendously.
Here's another update to the saga of my life....
My cousin with down syndrome and a clot in her lung passed away last night. I took my aunt to see her yesterday afternoon and I'm so glad that she got the chance to see her daughter one last time. Sandy (my cousin) was in and out most of the time and would snap out of it and ask that the light be turned back on. I knew that the end was near for her. She also kept motioning to someone to come closer but everytime I looked behind me noone was there. It was a little creepy but she's at peace now and in a better place where she no longer has to suffer. RIP Sandy - I love ya doll!
As for mom, they postponed her surgery until Monday. Her surgeon's assistant was not available today. I think that it was meant to be on Monday in light of everything else going on here.
Anthony is doing well. I don't hear much from him but his dad does. Dad is bugging the heck out of him to ensure that he's alright. I have not told him about Sandy and am afraid that he'll go off the deep end again after losing his grandfather last month and my mom having surgery.
As for me? I'm doing just fine. Don't you know I'm made of steel!!! Just kidding. I have my moments but in the long run doing okay. Jeff has promised me a long awaited vacation this coming spring. We're going to Hula Hula on Maui for a week or so. Now I know what you're thinking..... Jeff flying? He hates to fly. Well, he's decided to suck it up and do it. He said that if I can get through all this then he can get through a couple of flights. Gotta love him!
I'm so sorry about your cousin.. she at peace now.. You so deserve to go to Maui after all this going on, what a great hubby you have.. Please let us know how your mom does with her surgery.. she she be fine.. I'll keep her in my prayers..
