For those of you who have the weather that warrants a winter coat, choosing one that is flattering can be a chore. Most of us don't want to look like an over-sized Grizzly bear... When choosing a coat, here are some guidelines for certain figures that may help you look your best while keeping warm!
To hide fuller hips...Try an A-line coat that skims the lower body or a loosely constructed shawl coat that hits the knee or longer.
To hide heavier thighs...Look for a longer coat...3/4 lengths or "car coats" will point to the problem area, not hide it...
Women that are busty...A structured style is best, such as a double-breasted pea coat. Colors can make the difference also if you're larger busted. Black charcoal or navy work best.
Petite women...Simplicity is best in this case. A single-breasted coat won't overwhelm you. Delicate details in a coat will flatter also, like unusual buttons or decorative stitching...
One quick tip that will help everyone looking for a new coat... Try the coat on over a bulky outfit before you buy it. This way you won't buy a coat that binds you. If you go to the store and aren't wearing a bulky sweater or outfit, take the extra time to try on those items with the coat you're trying on......
For those of you who live in the climates where we don't really need coats anymore......Aren't you lucky? <grin> Actually, you do need a coat for about one month here in Arizona (at night). This happens to be the month.
