Ok recently the doctor prescribed me Zomig ZMT disintegrating tablets for my migraines. I was shocked when I saw that 6 tablets were $140.00!! That is $164. Canadian!!

Has anyone used prescription assistance for their medications? (Not insurance) Such as Merck or Astra Zeneca

Holy cow!  Is the stuff coated in gold?  I've never used a prescription assistance service.  I hope that you will be able to qualify for something like that to help with the cost.  That is just insane.  And you know it probably costs the drug companies like a few cents to make the things.

Oh my gosh!!! You've got to be kidding. I've never tried the assistance for perscriptions but gosh who can afford that. I'd say go for it and see if you can get approved for it. You might also want to contact the actual manufacturing company because they might help. If the drug is still in experimental states where alot has not been used yet, sometimes the companies will give you the meds so they can get stats on it.

Yup contacted Astra Zeneca for the migraine medication.  Printed out my application and gave it to my nurse for her to fill in the blanks.  So we will see how it goes.  I only have this one and my Zoloft atm, so it is not as bad as some people by any means.  Fortunately I only get those stupid migraines about once every other month or so. 

 

sheesh  You would think they have gold in them with those prices!

If I get accept through the company, I get them for free. Hopefully I will know something next week.

Hmm I went to my P.O. Box yesterday and still nothing from the meds company... However, when I got back FedEx showed up with meds!  I was amazed they sent me 6 boxes of 18 tablets free of charge and FedEx'd them to me.  Thank heavens I have enough for at least 6 months now.  Whew!  Way to go Astra Zeneca!!

I'm so glad Lyn.  I hope that they will help.  WOOHOO for caring manufacturing companies.  It shows that they believe in their meds and in a way by them doing this it helps them get the word out on the meds.
